Khurai is a city and a municipality in Sagar district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Geography

Khurai is located at . It has an average elevation of 436 metres (1430 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Khurai had a population of 31,887. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Khurai has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 63%. In Khurai, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Education

Three popular schools are Holy Family Convent School,Gurukul School and G.S.M.V.M Khuria. The town has a Polytechnic College and a Science & Arts College. Khurai also has a Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalya and there's famous Jain temple popularly known as Lal Mandir.

Tourism

Popular places to visit are Dohela and Jain Temple in Gurukul.
